Day 8

As much as I wanted to get out of the house, this (cold) Sunday was about the boys cleaning up the fallen snow we got yesterday, while I scrubbed dirty walls. It was about french toast, pajamas, the wood stove, listening to music, catching up on the dreaded laundry, and lounging around playing video games.

I decided for this to really, truly show our life....I should leave the laundry baskets on the couch, the piles of laundry, the ashes on the wood stove, the crumbs on the table, and the messes. Its us, it real. Sure the pillows get plumped and blankets get laid upon the couch but our house is also usually covered in laundry, or baskets or dog hair- you know because we live in it.

Day 7

Today at 5:30 am while the house the whole house slept, and I was wide awake I decided instead of it being a negative thing, I could turn it into a positive thing. I brewed myself a hot cup of coffee, grabbed a blanket and a new book and had me time. I read. I enjoyed every second of it. I also enjoyed the pitter patter of Cyrus' feet when he crawled out of bed at 7:33.

Day 6

Today I failed. 

I decided, oh I'll just double up the photos tomorrow, or I'll find an extra.

I decided. No. No, I will not do that. I will not pretend.

I will be honest. 

Today I ran errands, today I roasted a turkey to make the  next couple of meals easier, today I did not pick up my camera. I almost took a picture of the turkey and laughed and made a joke about this turning into a preggo's food diary. But today I decided its okay.

Day 5

Still not saying this is a 365, I'm bound to fail, I usually do. However here are 5 more days of photos I wouldn't normally have. So thats a win.

I am salad obsessed, lately its just been throwing together whatever is in my fridge but I'd love to hear some of your favorite salad recipes!

Day 4

Messy counters, unorganized cabinets, dirty dishes, clean dishes that need to be put away, light, smoke, particles, and blurriness. This is real life. 

Day 3

Poppy seed is 15 weeks today. No belly pictures yet, I mean unless you want to see a belly that looks like it overate, then I'll get right on it! I'm still squeezing into my jeans, however leggings are much more comfortable. Just 5 short weeks and we'll know who is living inside of me, hopefully! We're getting excited to know if you're a boy or a girl! We love you, little one, even though you're draining the life out of me! ;)

Day 2

When you set a goal to organize that hellacious desk of yours, but your six year old comes over and asks you to build a lego set, you STOP. Its the last day of winter vacation, and that mess can wait, it has for the past how many days?


And well because....

Sixty seconds now feels more like thirty
Tick-tock, won't stop, around it goes
Sand through the glass sure falls in a hurry
All you keep trying to do is slow it down, soak it in
You're trying to make the good times last as long as you can
But you can't, no you can't
It just goes too fast
Way too fast
 

2017

Over the past year, I have really slacked on picking up my camera to document my own family. This year that changes. Its about the boring, the nitty gritty, thats our life and I want to remember it. Especially the half of the year we're still a family of 3, and it will be just as important to document us becoming a family of 4! Here's to me picking up my camera, daily? Who knows but anything is better than what I did last year! 

We spent our New Years day romping in the woods, and playing monopoly! How'd you spend yours?

10 on 10

I am sure you're all aware by now that I have royally sucked with my project 52. I don't know what my deal is, but I have not been picking up the camera, and I don't even know why...just lack of inspiration I guess...

However, that is not acceptable..

So I have challenged myself with a new photo project.

A 10 on 10. So every 10th day of the month, I will take and post 10 photos! Who wants to join? Anyone? Help me not be a quitter.

This month was a little hard, my sister had Cyrus, so Jay and I were super lazy and watched movies for half the day- so don't mind the hodge podge of photos that don't really make sense together. I did it, and thats all that matters! ;)

Week 8, already? Wow!

We ended last week celebrating Tess' birthday, and eating some damn good cake! Then we had a relaxing weekend. We walked in the woods, and just hung out.

This week was school vacation week, we had some extra kiddos in the beginning of the week... We explored the woods, played games, and watched some movies! Not as exciting as of a vacation as some, but it was just fine with us!

Not many pictures, as my hands were pretty full!

However Cyrus did read his first book, that was not from school, to his cousin- I am so so proud of my little reader!

7 weeks!

I haven't failed, yet! ;)

Cyrus had his first valentines party at school! It was adorable!

Last Friday, I had a make and take at my house, it will hopefully be a monthly thing. It was a lot of fun! We made, face toner, love potion, massage oil, thieves cleaner and chapstick...(well I pre made those!) I'd say it was a success. Thank you to everyone who came!

Saturday we went to my nephews basketball game, and visited my sister and family....and then we had a date night... A much much needed one!

Sunday was Valentine's day, we're not big supporters of that holiday...but I made our usual heart breakfast, and we cooked dinner together- and Jay did the dishes, so for me that is just perfect!

We have had some cold, cold days here in NH....making it hard for Jay to work- but it made some time for us to have with each other- so I'll take it!

Other than that its been a pretty mundane week!

Totally dropped the ball this week! Sorry!

I have a good excuse....I was sick, then I was super busy with volunteering, and then I hosted a make and take at my house...

I don't have much to say about this week, because I am so behind, I honestly don't even remember what happened...lol
