Happy December!

Happy December!

Sorry for my lack of thankful posts, I tried, sickness and life got the best of me. Oh life, I'm sure you can all commiserate with me.

We made it through Thanksgiving, shoveling from the nor easter, and lots and lots of cooking!

Now, its the most wonderful time of the year! I just love Christmas time. The lights, the baking, family and friends, elf on the shelf, and the TREE, oh the tree. I'm a sucker for a good, large tree. Cutting it down is awesome, but the decorating, its the best. Watching it transform from beautiful to gorgeous is my favorite. Unwrapping the ornaments, and sharing the story from each one is one of my favorite parts of decorating. The end result is magical. I could sit on my couch, with my feet propped up and stare at it, for hours.

Sorry for the overload, maybe it will make up for my slackerness from my thankful posts?

Thankful Days {13/30}

Today, I'm thankful for my other greatest friend in my life. She came into my life when things were uncertain, a time when I felt like I was failing, when I felt alone. She lifted me up with her positivity and her stories of the same feelings she had endured with her first child. She still has these special words for me, no one else can put it quite that way. She'll kill you with compliments, and truly means them from the bottom of her heart. She has the biggest, kindest heart and is not afraid to show it, although it sometimes gets crushed that way. I hope she  never changes that about her. I used to watch her mothering from a distance, and wish I could be half the mom she is! She'll shake her booty for you, even when you don't feel like dancing. She'll hug you, a lot, and you have to like it! ;o) She loves hard, and her actions and words truly show it. By the way you should read some of her writing, its truly breath taking. She has a way with words, I tell you! I'm thankful she gave me girls to love and spoil in my life of boys, and I'm thankful her girls love me like an aunt. I'm thankful she pushes me to be a better person, a more positive person, and to see the light at the end of the tunnel! I love having her as my reading buddy, the conversations that we have about books, warm my heart! I love that she's a worrier, and if I call at a not so normal time, she'd drop everything for me, or sit there worrying about me until she heard back. Again the conversations, we have some of the greatest chats, I'll cherish them forever. Most of all I'm thankful for her friendship, and hope for many many more years of it. You all are missing out on a beautiful person, inside and out! Thank you Jess, for putting up with ME, I know it isn't always easy! <3

Thankful Days {12/30)

Today I'm thankful for one of my oldest friends. The road we've walked along together has been long, sometimes bumpy, other times flat but its what makes us, US! She's been around for some of the hardest times in my life, and some the most joyous and momentous. She called everyday to check on me while my Dad was hooked to a ventilator, fighting for his life. Listened to me cry when times were tough and I thought I couldn't make it through! This lady made sure I had lilacs on my doorstep, to keep the memory of my mom alive, on her birthday. She was much more than helpful during my horrible week of induction with Cyrus. She listened to my words, and did her best to make my pain go away when Cyrus wasn't positioned correctly inside of me. Her positive words helped me through my feeling of failure when I had to have an emergency Cesarean. She brings me half&half cause she knows I'm junk with out my coffee, and this ass hat always runs out. I wish I could be as positive as she is, I wish I could deal with situations like she does. If she complains, it has to be pretty bad- me, I complain about everything and I'm sure drive her a little crazy with my antics. Since she was an only child, she always tells me I'm the sister she never had, honestly, it makes my heart smile every.single.time... Plus I keep her around cause her Mom makes kick-ass cream cheese frosting, and her Dad is such a lovable man who knows an embarrassing secret about my family that I can't have leaked. Psst, I actually secretly hate her because she's gorgeous without even trying. I'm glad we met those 8 or so years ago, I'm forever changed. Thanks for loving me for me, and putting up with a sarcastic ass of a friend.

Thankful Days {9/30}

Today I'm thankful for fresh flowers! Is there anything better than the smell of a new bouquet of flowers? Yesterday we checked out the new Aldi Food Market, and Cyrus the gentlemen he is picked this bouquet for me. Oh yeah and I did I mention it cost $1.99? Yeah, no joke. I'm thankful for that, too! ;o)

Thankful Days {6/30}

Today, I'm thankful for our oldest fur baby, Tucker! He may follow me wherever I go, and even has to follow me to the bathroom to watch as I pee, but I love his cute face! He always greets us at the door, with his big smile, and jumps up and wraps his legs around our waist for a great hug! We never seem to disappoint him, as he's always happy to see us. Isn't that the best? If you begin to pat him, especially right between the eyes, and then suddenly stop, he'll knock your arm with his nose until you start again. He snuggles me in bed in the morning until I get up, then his following begins. His whine at the door to be let out, is too cute, although incessant and never ending some days. Most of all I'm thankful he's Cyrus' best friend, and he certainly puts up with more than his fair share of Cyrus-NESS! We love you, Tucker Valentine!

Thankful Days {5/30}

Today I'm thankful for music! Its always there for me, through the good, the bad and the ugly. Sometimes a simple lyric can express how I feel, better than I can in that moment! My mind has a hard time shutting down, and an even harder time with silence. Thank you tunes for filling the void!

My parents always had some sort of music on in their home while I was growing up, and most of the time still do when I pop in for a visit. I owe a big thanks to my Dad for making music so important in my life! ;o)

Thankful Days {4/30}

Today I'm thankful that this guy shares a love for photography, even if its just with a toy camera, for now! He always gushes over sunrises, sunsets, and golden lighting! Sometimes he can find a better patch of light then I can! ;o) He knows how to warm my heart talking about lighting as we drive. He's pretty great, and so isn't photography! :o)
