Today was so busy, went out for breakfast just me and my little, ran errands, went and got haircuts, more errands, picked Daddy up from work and then went and met Tess and her family for a spur of the moment beach trip. Honestly, never used my big camera, I used my phone for most of the day, so I'm going to share a self portrait I took of myself after the hair cut!

I can't get enough of my blooming fuschias, this little boy can't go frog hunting enough. We're so lucky to live next to this beautiful marsh, and be able to see so much wild life!

WOOHOO! DAY 200! Only 165 days to go! Hey my other 365ers, give yourself a pat on the back. We're in the home stretch, well sort of!

After a weekend away, our pup was surely missing us! He was so full of it, and couldn't get enough of our snuggles, rubs, and stick chasing with Cyrus!

I'm slightly obsessed with my hanging plant, these fuschias are absolutely gorgeous, and I can't get enough of them. Sorry if you follow me on instagram, I'm sure I'm driving you slightly bonkers.

If its one thing in this world I can't get enough of, its lilacs! A huge part of that is before my Mom died she made a video for us, and in the video she exclaimed that she wasn't leaving us but that she'd always be around us. When the wind blew, knew she was visiting, but most of all when our noses filled with the fragrant smell of lilacs to know she surrounded us. They were her favorites, they are my favorite. Especially when I need my Mom most, I stop and smell the lilacs, or the lilac candles if need be! I cannot wait for ours to bloom, and fill my nose with their sweet smell, until then I'll enjoy each and every one of there delicate buds!

Today, I had the pleasure of working with a super fun family, who will soon be adding a little princess to their family! They are friends of my sister, so I knew them, which always makes a session a little easier, but harder all at the same time. I want to make sure I go above and beyond for them, but also not stress myself out!

As many of my fellow photographers know, sometimes you have to get in some pretty awkward positions to get THE shot. Right?! Well anyway, back to Sunday their son asked me if I was an Avatar, air bender to be exact. I was literally laughing so hard, I told him I'd be sure to add that to my resume! Oh, 11 year old boys!

I cannot wait to photograph their little girl in June! I'm going to be trying out new things, which may or may not work out, and I'm so lucky they're willing to give me that chance!

Ooobleck. What's better than a little cornstarch, water, and food coloring? It was fun to play in this with Cyrus, unfortunately he didn't enjoy it as much as I thought he would. I think maybe fifteen minutes, tops! He did however save it to show Daddy, for when he gets home from work, so I might get a few more minutes out of him.

After I took this photo, he explained to me that since I did my "photoshoot" of him playing in this, he deserved a piece of chocolate cake. Right kid, at 10 am, I'll be sure to cut off a hunk of cake for you. Think again, little one! We've now had a cake battle, ALL DAY long, proud to say I'm still WINNING!

Happy Mother's Day!

I never knew unconditional love until I met Cyrus.
I never knew exhaustion until I had Cyrus.
I never knew scribbles on a piece of paper would bring me so much happiness, until Cyrus.
I never truly understood snuggles, until Cyrus.
I never knew puddle jumping could be so much fun until Cyrus splashed me right in the face, and let out the best belly laugh I've ever heard in my life.
I never knew pride, until my eyes took in the one of his best accomplishments. Cyrus learned how to ride a bike on two wheels. NO TRAINING WHEELS!
I never knew there were five words that would make my heart smile like never before. [You are the best, Mom!}
I never thought I would enjoy when my baby had a fever, but I do!
I never knew reading the same book over and over would actually be fun. Until you hear your little one repeat the words he's heard over and over!
I never knew my heart could hurt so much, until my child's feelings were hurt by mean children at the playground.
I never knew the true meaning of "Mommy Goggle's!"
I never knew the power of m&m's until I was a Mom!
I never knew how hard it was to go grocery shopping with kid in tow, sorry for any dirty looks my younger self gave to you.
I never knew strangers could be so kind, until my arms were filled with a very heavy sleeping toddler, and groceries spilled out my arms. They didn't have to leave their spot in line to scan and bag my groceries for me, but they did. All because of you, Cyrus!
I never knew frustration until I was Mom!


Thank you for giving me all these wonderful memories, Cyrus! I'm proud to be your Mom, thanks for teaching me something new each and every day! I love you!
